Greene County genealogy project

About the project

The Greene County History CD Project was begun in 1997 as a cooperative effort between the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library and the Worthington-Jefferson Township Public Library. It was financed by a $40,000 Library Services Technology Grant awarded by the Indiana State Library. COMARCO did the original conversion of the print material to digital form.We wish to thank the Greene County Health Department who made the Birth and Death record indexes available to us. They are current to the year 1994. The Project included many other Greene County history and local family genealogy items. They are available on CD at the local libraries. In the future we hope to make more of this information available on-line. Also available at the Bloomfield library are microfilm copies of the Bloomfield newspapers from 1888-1998. At the Worthington library one can view the Worthington newspaper from 1855-current.

The files are in a PDF format, you will need to have a viewer installed to be able to read the files.
We recommend using the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader. These PDF files have been created to be searchable and require up-to-date software. If you have problems opening them, please try updating your software.

The documents listed within this web site indicate which book and page number the records are listed in.
If you wish to get a copy of the appropriate certificate you must contact the Greene County Health Department.
